The Sky
As I look up to the sky,
Myriad blues blend with
Soft clouds, at peace
Under the caress of a golden touch.
Flowing structures laze across
The sky, interlaced with gentle fires.
The Sun sings its lullaby
To clouds webbed in light.
Shadows chase and tease;
Children playing games of innocence
In the same sky
Of Eden Past.
*
Here,
Is an unfenced beach, hidden by loneliness.
Bluish flower shapes, facing unnoticed shingle.
Here,
The sun stands, out of reach,
In the distance of the past.
Here,
Heat luminously clarifies neglected poppies.
Suddenly, silence ends;
Beyond land, waters like weeds quicken
And untalkative existence thickens in the air.
People ascend.
Our Time
Dark days these indeed,
When who we are, and
Who we ought to be,
Struggle with our human need.
Desperate times, 'tis true:
As we stumble, and
Struggle with doubts,
Whilst seeking pastures new.
Such hard lives we live,
When our minds are never
Free from the sacred posion,
Which only a bottle can give.
I am not of these times.
I fear of this place.
I cannot see who is right,
In a world where all we know
Is wrong.
